Within the EkoConnect framework the main focus will particularly be on the transfer of
knowledge, information, experiences and techniques and the meeting between people.
For us it is only natural that the transfer will be carried out in both directions
(from the CEE countries to Western Europe and vice versa).
EkoConnect is a central address for NGOs (organic farmers associations, consumer
organisations etc.), farmers marketing organisations and state authorities from CEE
countries which are involved or wish to get involved in organic farming issues.
EkoConnect's main points of emphasis are following:
- being a central information and co-ordination platform for information about:
contacts throughout Europe, educational and training programmes for organic farming, publications on training, the capacity of development of organic farming in CEE countries
- supporting the process that people from East and West come into contact with each other and start to exchange and share each others own experiences in the field of organic farming
- providing a know-how-transfer by means of workshops and training courses regarding organic farming, public relations, marketing, inspection and certification requirements etc.
- organising study trips to certified organic demonstration farms and also to operations that are engaged in organic trade and processing
- supporting private and public institutions in their efforts to build up organic farming structures
